Messiah College presents Tercero soprano and guitar duet performance

GRANTHAM, Pa. (March 29, 2007) — On April 19, two celebrated musicians, Robin Tercero Montgomery and David R. Tercero, will blend their talents in a stunning duet performance at Messiah College. The show will include pieces such as “Letters from Composers” by local composer Dominick Argento of York. The musicians will perform at 7:30 p.m. in Poorman Recital Hall, located in the Climenhaga Fine Arts Center on the college’s Grantham campus. This event is free and open to the public.

Montgomery, a native of San Antonio, Texas, earned her master of arts degree in vocal pedagogy from Texas Women’s University, under the tutelage of nationally celebrated vocal pedagogue Joan Wall. She is currently a board member of the Fort Worth Guitar Guild, and her vocal talents have taken her to venues such as the “Mendelssohn-Haus Musiksalon” in Leipzig, Germany, the Modern Museum of Art in Forth Worth, Texas, and the “Seminari di Fine d’Estate” in Mattinata, Italy.

Tercero, whose talents on guitar have garnered national fame for him, earned his bachelor of music degree in guitar performance from Southern Methodist University. After graduation, he established himself as a performer and teacher in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex. He also has performed in the “Mendelssohn-Haus Musiksalon” and the “Seminari di Fine d’Estate,” as well as winning various prizes for his abilities in several guitar competitions. He is currently approaching completion of his doctor of musical arts degree in guitar performance at the University of North Texas.

Messiah College, a private Christian college of the liberal and applied arts and sciences, enrolls more than 2,800 undergraduate students in 60 majors. Established in 1909, the primary campus is located in Grantham, Pa., near the state capital of Harrisburg. A satellite campus affiliated with Temple University is located in Philadelphia.
