at Science Camp! 

 

 

 

This week long ½ day camp is designed to be stimulating, age-appropriate, hands-on and project-based. The camp offers creative opportunities to use science to explore the world.

Camp Description

Forensics
Become a crime solver!  Learn forensic techniques to identify fingerprints, lip prints, handwriting, hair, and fiber, complete blood analysis, and practice DNA sequence comparison techniques. Work with a team to solve a “crime” using the techniques that you learned throughout the week.

Camp Time

Monday - Friday 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Doors open for registration at 8:45 AM

Experienced Teachers

Camp instructors are certified teachers assisted by Messiah College students.  All summer camp staff members—instructors and assistants—have current clearances.

The student:teacher ratio is 8:1.

Price

$185 per person/per camp

Fees include the week long scheduled activities/instruction, supplies and a museum T-shirt.

Payment must be made in advance and received at least 14 days prior to the start of camp to hold the registration. Credit card payments may be made during Saturday public hours. We accept Visa, MasterCard, and American Express. Checks may be mailed to

Cancellation of camp registration must be done at least 14 days in advance of the camp start date in order to receive a refund equal to the cost of the camp minus a $25 service fee per person, per camp. Cancellations not made 14 days in advance will not receive a refund.

The Oakes Museum of Natural History reserves the right to cancel any program two weeks before it begins due to insufficient registration. All prepaid participants will receive a full refund.

What to Bring

• Water bottle (labeled)
• Wear shoes and clothing that can get dirty or wet
• No crocs or flipflops
• Sunscreen (if needed)
