HOLLINGER GALLERY
  • BEARS OF NORTH AMERICA
Be ready to jump as you leave the Chesapeake Gallery and enter the domain of the bears. The foreground artist has carefully placed our bear collection so all eyes give a piercing glare in your direction as you pass through the door.

  • SHEEP MOUNTAIN
Graze your eyes across the entire mountain. All of the sheep and goats are arranged according to the altitude where they live. Can you guess why their hooves and coat colorations are important for their climate and lifestyle?

  • BEAVER LODGE
Meet our family of beavers inside their home. Who are those two playful scoundrels peering towards the beaver dam?

  • DEER OF NORTH AMERICA
Click the antlers together to get the sound of two deer fighting. Or, check out the width of the racks on the moose and elk. One cannot leave this area without wondering how God created so many beautiful mammals, especially our pied white tailed deer.

  • BIRDS, EGGS, AND NESTS
Our extensive collection includes over 500 clutches of eggs. Can you find at least one clutch that is extinct today? A rotating fraction of our 300 birds and 200 nests are displayed in this gallery.

  • NORTH AMERICA: YESTERDAY AND TODAY
Go back in time thousands of years as you study our musk Ox and diorama. Or, stand next to the wetlands of the Susquehanna River and use your senses to smell, feel, and hear all the living things found in the wetlands. Don’t miss the opportunity to observe our all-American backyard as it ties together rural and urban and suburban Pennsylvania into one harmonious, living community. Look carefully to find the screech owl, high in the beech tree.
