2005 Recipient
Peter Greer '97

As the president and leader of a global, non-profit organization, Peter Greer 97 experiences both enormous responsibilities and monumental rewards. His organization, HOPE International, is a Christian organization of 30,000 people focused on micro-enterprise development. At Messiah, Greer recognized in the field of microfinance a perfect opportunity to combine his interest in business with his interest in missions, particularly when he visited Russia in 1996 through the International Business Institute.
Greer has worked as a microfinance advisor for World Relief in Cambodia, and later as a managing director for World Relief in Rwanda. He received his Master of Public Policy from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University and joined HOPE in July 2004.
