Congratulations to Michelle Blackford who has accepted the position of assistant director of alumni and parent relations. Michelle has performed exceptionally well as the interim assistant director during the past six months. Her energy and enthusiasm for working with students and alumni combined with her experience in planning and executing public events will surely be an asset to serving the campus community, alumni and parents.

Educational Issues Forum Speaker Stephen Prothero, of Boston University, is described by Newsweek as "a world religions scholar with the soul of a late night television comic." His topic is Religious Literacy: What every American needs to know . . . and doesn’t. Prothero argues religion must become the “fourth R” of American education; we must teach students in public schools about the world’s religions — including the Bible— if we are going to equip them to understand American politics and world affairs.
