Educational Issues Forum
Annual Religion and Society Lecture
Speaker Stephen Prothero, of Boston University, is described by Newsweek as "a world religions scholar with the soul of a late night television comic." His topic is Religious Literacy: What every American
needs to know . . . and doesn’t. Prothero argues
religion must become the “fourth R” of American education; we must teach students in public schools about the world’s religions — including the Bible— if we are going to equip them to understand American politics and world affairs. February 26, 2008 at 7:00 p.m.
in Hostetter Chapel. Tickets are not required. For
more information contact the Education Department
at edudept@messiah.edu.
