Dr. Lowell D. Mann '49
Dr. Lowell Mann, whose wife, Anna Jean (Hilsher '46), and sons, Eric '87, and Thomas '88, also attended Messiah, has dedicated his life and profession to Christian service. As a psychiatrist, consultant, and administrator in several counseling and therapy organizations, Mann can be characterized by his commitment to integrating his faith with his professional practice, including his work with the Penn State Hershey Medical School. In addition to his private practice, Mann spent ten years in India as a missionary, and has since continued his involvement with the Brethren in Christ Board for World Missions.
Having been reared in a Christian home with four siblings, Dr. Mann is thankful for the continued Christian foundation and nurturing that he received at Messiah College and continues to give back to those around him. As well as his involvement with the local Rotary, Dr. Mann has served on the church board and taught Sunday school at several churches, including the Lancaster and Elizabethtown Brethren in Christ Churches, and is currently a deacon at Elizabethtown Brethren in Christ.
