As a part of the homecoming festivities, Eyas, the Office of Alumni and Parent Relations, and the Messiah Homecoming Committee join to help finish Saturday off right. After two days of exciting activities, the entire campus community gathers to enjoy a night soccer game at Shoemaker Field. Eyas’ mission is to “whiteout” the fans in attendance. Throughout the day, parents and alumni are welcomed to purchase whiteout t-shirts to be worn at the game later in the day. Before the game, students are invited to meet in in the center of campus where free t-shirts are given to the first several hundred to arrive. The crowd of students clad in white collectively marches to the field where they are given preferential seating on bleachers on the track just off the field. The whiteout enhances the excitement expressed by the thousands of other electrified parents, students, and fans cheering in and around the stadium. This is an event that should not be missed.  |
