When Apple released the iPad in April 2010, critics questioned the value of this category of device and its' market viability. Who needs an oversized iPhone or a laptop that doesn't have Microsoft Word? Apparently over 50 million people do. The tablet has captured the imagination of young and old and continues to pick up momentum as it crosses into mainstream culture. Yet many of us in the business world struggle with how to apply it to our professional lives. Bryan Owen will facilitate a discussion on the role of the tablet in the workplace, from a personal productivity tool to a powerful sales and research platform.

Bryan Owen's Bio:

Bryan Owen is a Marketing Director at Hershey Entertainment & Resorts and has spent the past 12 years working in the intersection between Marketing and Technology. His background is quite diverse, from designing and building Web systems to leading organizational change initiatives to helping start and grow an venture-backed Internet startup. The common thread across all of his experiences is a passion for entrepreneurship, innovation, and technology. He is known by peers and friends as an early adopter (aka "geek") and has invested countless hours developing new ways to justify the purchase of new gadgets to his wife and his boss. At HE&R Bryan has helped encourage the adoption of new technology in the workplace, including the iPhone, iPad and Android tablet. In his free time Bryan runs a small Internet business, teaches a Marketing class at Messiah (Spring semester), and hosts killer family dance parties with his 7 and 5-year old.
