ALUMNI DIRECTORY ON SCHEDULE FOR JUNE RELEASE: LAST CALL TO SUBMIT PERSONAL QUESTIONNAIRES
Thank you to the more than 7,000 alumni who have returned their personal questionnaires for the 2002 Messiah College Alumni Directory! If you have not yet returned your questionnaire, please do so by February 15 to insure accuracy of information about you in the directory.
Allowing several months for production and printing, we hope to begin delivery of directories in June. To date, approximately 1,000 directories have been ordered. If you still wish to order a directory or have misplaced your personal questionnaire, please contact the Office of Alumni & Parent Relations by calling (717) 796-5252.

LOOK FOR SPRING REUNION WEEKEND BROCHURE TO ARRIVE IN YOUR MAILBOX
Our brand new Spring Reunion Weekend scheduled for April 5-7, 2002 is approaching. All alumni are invited to participate in the activities including:
  • a Friday afternoon golf outing
  • a Saturday morning brunch with President Sawatsky (hear his vision for Messiah College),
  • faculty workshops on topics like Islam, the Amish, and Old Testament Women
  • a presentation on Messiah's solar racing car, Genesis
  • an open house at the Oakes Museum of Natural History
  • regularly scheduled athletic and cultural events

    AMY SHERMAN TO RECEIVE DISTINGUISHED ALUMNUS AWARD DURING APRIL 16 COLLEGE CHAPEL
    Sherman, a 1987 graduate, is the youngest recipient ever for Messiah's Distinguished Alumnus Award. Amy is being honored for her nationally-recognized work and scholarship on faith-based initiatives and for her own participation in urban ministry. Amy is scheduled to speak and be honored in College Chapel to be held at 9:30 a.m. on April 16 .

    LAST CALL FOR YOUR OPINION ON AFFINITY CREDIT CARDS FOR ALUMNI
    At its upcoming March meeting, the Alumni Council will issue its recommendation to the Office of Alumni & Parent Relations on whether to accept a proposal from MBNA, Inc. to implement an affinity credit card program for alumni.     MESSIAH'S ANNUAL "LOVE RUN" DEDICATED TO MEMORY OF STEVE HAYES
    Messiah is holding its annual 5k "Love Run" race on Saturday, February 16 at 10:30 a.m. Proceeds from this year's race will benefit the Steve Hayes Memorial Scholarship Fund, the American Heart Association, and Messiah College Cross Country Teams. Awards will be given to both individuals and couples in several age categories. To receive a long-sleeve t-shirt, you must register by February 7.     FORMER HEAD OF SALVATION ARMY TO SHARE BUSINESS AND ORGANIZATIONAL INSIGHTS
    The Salvation Army has been called the most effective organization in the U.S. by management expert, Peter Drucker. Robert Watson, former National Commander of the Salvation Army, will be on campus to discuss leadership secrets of The Salvation Army as part of Messiah's Executive-in-Residence Program on Wednesday, February 13, at 6:30 p.m. in Hostetter Chapel. Admission is free and alumni are invited.

    Messiah is pleased to announce the creation of the Family Business Forum, designed to offer programs on both the technical and relationship aspects of managing a family business. Serving as executive director is John Eldred, co-founder of the prestigious Wharton School Family Business Program.     ALUMNUS PUBLISHES MEMOIRS
    William R. Hoke, a 1937 Messiah Junior College graduate and recipient of Messiah's first Christian Service Award in 1994 has announced the publishing of the book, A RICH HERITAGE, MEMOIRS - BOOK ONE, 1917-1980.     EMPLOYERS TO RECRUIT ON CAMPUS DURING CAREER FEST 2002
    Employment representatives will be on campus in the Eisenhower Commons on April 4, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. to talk with students and alumni about employment and internship opportunities. This is an excellent opportunity if you are considering changing careers. To attend, please come with your updated resume.

    WHATEVER HAPPENED TO eBULLETIN TRIVIA CONTESTS?
    Due to the huge work load from processing questionnaires for the Alumni Directory project, we have decided to relieve our support staff from the added processing that hundreds of e-mail trivia responses by taking a hiatus from the trivia contests for a few months. We look forward to offering the trivia contests in the future. Thanks for your understanding and bearing with us.
