* STORIES UNFOLDING AT HOMECOMING 2003
The air is getting crisper, leaves are turning color, and campus is getting ready for Homecoming, October 18. Several stories will unfold this year including:

- THE AGAPE CENTER kicks-off its 5 year anniversary inviting alumni to return and celebrate Messiah's long tradition of service & outreach opportunities(lots of stories there!).

- A passionate servant to the church, an attorney cum social reformer in Latin America, and a faithful servant to Messiah for more than 40 years will be honored at the ALUMNI AWARDS LUNCHEON.

- Ignoring how their looks may have changed or how their life journeys may have varied, hundreds of alumni will return for their CLASS REUNIONS to reconnect and reminisce. Which class - ‘78, ‘83, ‘88, ‘93, or ‘98 - will have the highest percentage of classmates return?

- More than 210,000 hours of labor, 100,000 blocks and 747 miles of wiring and cable have gone into Messiah's newest academic building, BOYER HALL, which now houses faculty and programs covering 60% of the curriculum. Come and see it for yourself.

- That building's namesake, and one of Messiah's most famous alumni, will be remembered as his classmates and colleagues from Messiah and Upland recall his influence upon their lives during the "REMEMBERING ERNIE BOYER RECEPTION."

- What's in the hearts and minds of today's faculty and students? Find out by visiting any of the eleven ACADEMIC DEPARTMENT RECEPTIONS during the Boyer Hall Open House.

- Celebrating 40 years of existence, Messiah's FIELD HOCKEY and MEN'S SOCCER teams compete. Field Hockey has surpassed 400 wins and goes up against another storied program, Ursinus College, the birthplace of collegiate field hockey. Men's soccer takes on a robust York College team that defeated our arch rival, E-town (3-0), earlier this season.

- Who will win the rematch of last year's NCAA regional championship finals competitors as Wheaton College takes on the Lady Falcons in WOMEN'S SOCCER?

- Find out how student comedian, Tim Morgan, had 600 of his peers rollicking through 75 minutes of clean comedy in his debut performance last spring when he performs during the post-game COFFEEHOUSE & COMEDY event.

But even more special, more than 1,000 alumni will return to campus, each with their own stories to share. Won't YOU be one of them?

For a full HOMECOMING SCHEDULE, please visit our website at www.messiah.edu/alumni . To help us with our planning, please take a few moments to pre-register either online or call (717) 796-5252. All who register by the end of Friday, Oct. 10 will be entered into a drawing for Messiah insignia merchandise and a FREE overnight stay at the Climenhaga Homestead.

* LOCATION CHANGE FOR
FALCONFEST & LIL' FALCON ZONE
Please note that at this year's Homecoming, these popular events are returning to the campus green adjacent to the Eisenhower Campus Center. The Lil' Falcon Zone featuring activities for children has expanded. The FalconFest menu offers pork and chicken BBQ, vegan casserole, specialty salads, and fall-theme desserts (including caramel apples). Cost: Adults - $6; Children - $3. You can pay "at the door" but please help us with our meal counts by pre-registering.

* ALUMNI INVITED TO
WELBY LEAMAN PRESENTATION
Leaman, the 2003 Young Alumni Achievement Award recipient, will speak on campus on Thursday evening, October 16 at 7 p.m. in Frey Hall 110. Welby will discuss how failure and success can influence and shape our faith journeys by drawing heavily upon his own Christian experience as a Yale Law School student, attorney for a D.C. law firm, and now, as an independent consultant for public sector reform in Latin America.

* YOUNG ALUMNI GATHERING
IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA
Heather (Hric '98) Fishman and Lara Conrad '98 are hosting a BBQ for Messiah alumni living in Southern California who have graduated approximately within the past 15 years. * LAW & POLITICS NETWORK
FOR MESSIAH ALUMNI & FRIENDS
A local group of alumni has begun discussing formation of a network of Messiah alumni and friends working in law and politics. They invite persons in those professions to attend a reception to be held on-campus on Wednesday, October 29 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. in the Atrium of the new Boyer Hall. Time will be taken to discuss the purpose and opportunities for this network. Hors d'oeuvres & beverages will be served. * MESSIAH STUDENTS
DEPEND UPON ALUMNI GENEROSITY
The 2003-04 Student Impact Fund is now underway. Over the years several generous donors have helped build wonderful campus facilities, like Boyer Hall. But it is the faithful, combined gifts of every size from many, many others that help make it possible for gifted students to receive a Messiah education. Gifts to the Student Impact Fund directly support student financial aid. To help today's students, please respond positively to the Phonathon call you receive or go to www.messiah.edu to make a convenient, secure gift online.
