ALUMNI e-Bulletin . . . . November 2005 Edition
Photo: Alumni, friends, faculty, staff & students attend the Inauguration of President Kim S. Phipps Highlights in this issue:
A Special Thank You to Alumni from President Phipps I would like to thank the many alumni who participated in the recent celebration of Messiah’s presidential inauguration and Homecoming weekend. It was a wonderful week that highlighted the College’s distinct mission and heritage—as well as the quality of Messiah’s students, educators, employees, graduates and friends—to the larger community. There were numerous alumni who were involved with planning and implementing the inaugural and Homecoming festivities, and I am immensely grateful for their contributions. I would also like to recognize the Office of Alumni and Parent Relations for their leadership in coordinating alumni involvement and participation in both of these important celebrations in the life of the College. I especially enjoyed the time I was able to spend with alumni during Homecoming at the Alumni Awards Lunch and at the Open House at the President’s Residence. Kelly, Brooke, and I were glad to meet so many of you and your families. I am always encouraged when I have the opportunity to spend time with Messiah’s graduates and learn about the exciting ways that you are making a difference through your lives, serving and impacting your churches, schools, communities, and our society. As alumni of Messiah College, you are an essential, living, growing part of the College’s heritage and mission, and I ask you to continue to pray for Messiah and our students as we seek God’s wisdom, direction and strength on our journey to educate young women and men who will be leaders, servants and reconcilers in our world. Warmly, Kim Phipps, President
