The Career Center Post-Graduation Report includes survey results of the Messiah College Class of 2002, six to ten months after graduation. Both narrative and statistical information are included to reflect the status of our '02 graduates.

Methodology

• A self-mailer survey was sent to all bachelor's degree graduates in late October 2002.
• The survey was also available to complete on-line from the Career Center and Alumni Center home pages.
• A second survey was sent in late January 2003 to those who did not respond to the first mailing.
• A phone survey was conducted February through April to grads who remained "unreported."
• Two requests were distributed during April to the Messiah College Community of Educators to obtain their input on remaining grads.
• Information was, then, processed for the report.

Notes of Definition for Statistical Report (appears below, broken down by department)

Professional Employment - A baccalaureate degree is the minimal education requirement for employment.

Non-Professional Employment - A baccalaureate degree is not required for employment. May include alumni who are in transition, e.g., working interim jobs to finance graduate school or missions.

Advanced Degree - Alumni currently pursuing postgraduate training, typically a master's degree or doctorate degree in a specialized area of study.

Volunteer/Missions Service - Graduates involved in serving at least half-time in a volunteer capacity or through a domestic or international missions organization.

Seeking Employment - Graduates who (at the time of the survey) were in transition or seeking employment.

Status Unknown - Alumni that were not reached through the methodology described above, or for whom the College did not have current contact information.
