Itek 3985 Two-Color Offset Press The 3985 offset press is a two-color press. Utilizing two of these machines in the department allows us to produce single-color as well as multi-colored projects on a variety of stocks. These presses can print on stock sizes from 3 ½ x 5 inches minimum to a maximum sheet size of 13 3/8 x 17 ¾ inches, giving a full 17 inch bleed. Running a wide range of paper thickness’ from 16lb bond to12pt cover they can operate at speeds of 3000–10,000 sheets per hour, while still holding a very tight registration. With a total of three offset presses in the shop, we produce approximately 6,500,000 impressions per year.

ECRM Mako Imagesetter The addition of our new digital direct to film/plate system now allows us to have control of our film production. Producing film in-house, eliminated the need to outsource which is a cost savings to the department. We can now produce high quality film or plates up to 18 inches with resolutions from 1000dpi to 3556dpi, giving us much sharper images and better quality.
Duplo Collator/Stitcher/Trimmer We have a DBM 250 stitcher and trimmer connected to a DC-10000S 10-bin collator allowing us to produce a variety of different jobs. This equipment has combined three manual operations into one easy workflow, eliminating vast amounts of manual labor. Operating at speeds of 3000 books per hour, we can handle larger volumes with less manpower.
Neopost SI 90 Inserting and Sealing Machine This equipment allows us to take previous manual jobs and turn them into an automated process. We can handle one or more documents, with or without folding, collate them and then insert them into an envelope and seal the envelope in one process.
Satellite Copiers The college press manages approximately 55 satellite copiers located throughout the campus. These are primarily located within office areas for quick easy access and short run copying. Copiers that are connected to the ID Card system and accessible to staff, faculty and students with an ID card outside of the office areas are located in Murray Library, 3rd floor Jordan lobby, and 1st and 3rd floor Frey. Public access copiers that accept coins are located in the Murray Library.
