 Alumni participation is especially important to Messiah College. Currently, our participation rate fluctuates between 20% and 22%, but we are working hard to send the message that participation is important and small gifts matter. Here’s why:
- Foundations look at alumni participation when considering grants to Messiah College. The amount that an alumnus/a gives is often not as important as how many alumni give. High participation rates can help the College secure significant grants, which can make a tremendous difference in the lives of our students.
- National publications like U.S. News & World Report use alumni participation as a factor in ranking Messiah College. Messiah’s ranking matters because it tells prospective students that Messiah College is worth their investment.
- Alumni participation tells us we’re doing a good job and that our alums want to play a role in helping us educate men and women toward maturity of intellect, character, and Christian faith. It also shows that alumni are committed to providing current and future generations of Messiah students with the high-quality, Christian education for which Messiah is known.
