The electrical contractor has installed all the necessary equipment and the electricity is being produced and put on the PP&L electrical grid. Final inspection of project took place June 17 and township was very pleased..
April 2009 -
The electrical contractor is waiting for materials to arrive; then connection to the PPL electrical grid will take place.
March 2009 -
This month we are updating photos of this project.
February 2009 -
Approval granted by PPL and Upper Allen township to connect solar pavilion to PPL electric grid. Our electrical contractor has purchased materials and waiting arrival to make connections.
January 2009 -
Plans have been submitted to the township for approval to connect to the PPL grid. As soon as the approval is given, it will be connected and should be up and running.
November 2008 -
The final design of the interconnection to the PPL power grid is being completed. Upon township approval the connections will be made.
July 2008 -
The solar pavilion is completed. We are now waiting for it to be connected to the PPL power grid.
May 28, 2008 -
The pavilion was completed by the end of the semester. Connection to the electrical grid will take place over the summer.
April 21, 2008 -
The Solar Scholar team that is part of the Energy Group of the Collaboratory has received grant money and donations to build a photovoltaic training facility. This open air pavilion will be located on the southeast corner of Frey Hall. The structure was designed by Gannett Fleming, Inc. Wohlson Construction is the general contractor. The Solar Scholar team is providing labor to install the solar arrays as well as the electrical system that give about 3.2 kw of power to the building. This work is being conducted under the supervision of Fullerton Electric. The project broke ground on April 10th and is expected to be completed by the end of the semester.
