Harrisburg Institute
Messiah College is partnering with the Harristown Development Corportation to provide a new location for the Harrisburg Institute and the Harrisburg Residential Program. The new home is located on Dewberry Street at the corner of Chestnut in downtown Harrisburg. The building will provide several offices for the Harrisburg Institute, meeting space, a resident director's apartment and housing for 25 students. The project will be completed by August 15, 2007. Questions regarding the project should be directed to Kathie Shafer, Vice President for Operations. Questions regarding the work of the Harrisburg Institute should be directed to David Hietala, Director of the Harrisburg Institute. Questions regarding housing opportunities should be directed to Craig Dalen, Director of Community Life in Harrisburg. Update (August 10, 2007) The work is completed at the Harrisburg Institute. The contractor is completing punch list items. Furniture is being delivered August 14-16. The elevator has passed inspection and we are waiting for the city to issue an occupancy permit. We are ready for students to move in. Update (July 30, 2007) The work at the new home of the Harrisburg Institute is finishing up. In the next two weeks there will be required inspections, delivery of furniture and small items to complete. The building will be ready for students to move in at the end of August. Update (July 1, 2007) Work continues to progress ahead of schedule.
Work continues to proceed as scheduled. On the interior, framing out of all the spaces is finishing up and dry wall will soon be hung.
