Harrisburg Institute

Messiah College is partnering with the Harristown Development Corportation to provide a new location for the Harrisburg Institute and the Harrisburg Residential Program. The new home is located on Dewberry Street at the corner of Chestnut in downtown Harrisburg. The building will provide several offices for the Harrisburg Institute, meeting space, a resident director's apartment and housing for 25 students.

The project will be completed by August 15, 2007.

Update (August 10, 2007)
The work is completed at the Harrisburg Institute. The contractor is completing punch list items. Furniture is being delivered August 14-16. The elevator has passed inspection and we are waiting for the city to issue an occupancy permit. We are ready for students to move in.

Update (July 30, 2007)
The work at the new home of the Harrisburg Institute is finishing up. In the next two weeks there will be required inspections, delivery of furniture and small items to complete. The building will be ready for students to move in at the end of August.

Update (July 1, 2007)
Work continues to progress ahead of schedule.

• All cabinets are installed
• Painting is completed
• VCT tile flooring is installed
• Ceiling tiles are being installed
• Lighting is being installed
• Carpet is being installed
• Work on the new stair tower is progressing

Update (June 2, 2007)

• Drywall is hung on the second floor and the painters have begun to prime everything.
• Cabinets to start being installed the week of June 4th.
• Exterior work continues to proceed as scheduled.

Update (May 4, 2007)
Work continues to proceed as scheduled. On the interior, framing out of all the spaces is finishing up and dry wall will soon be hung. Exterior repair work on the brick is finishing up and windows on the second floor have been installed.
