--Only applicable to students who are eligible for veterans' benefits--
If you are a veteran, or the dependent of a veteran, and plan to receive veterans' benefits to help pay your educational expenses, please review our Military Benefits and Institutional Aid Policy so that you will understand how your veterans' benefits will interact with Messiah College institutional financial aid programs. In some cases, Messiah College institutional financial aid will need to be reduced to allow your veterans' benefits to fit into your institutional financial aid package. After reviewing the policy, please complete the Veterans' Benefits Reporting Form and return it to our office.
Yellow Ribbon Program: Students who wish to apply for benefits under the Yellow Ribbon Program should complete the Yellow Ribbon Program Application . Yellow Ribbon applicants should read and understand the Messiah College Policies and Procedures for theYellow Ribbon Program before applying for Yellow Ribbon Program benefits. The policies and procedures for the 2012-2013 year have not yet been finalized. We will make this link available to you when we are notified of any changes.
The purpose of this form is to collect information from you about any non-institutional/private scholarships you will be receiving. This means scholarships that are not from state, federal, or Messiah College sources.

Please note that you must apply for the Nursing Student Loan each year. If applying for the Nursing Student Loan, please complete the Verification forms even if not selected for verification by the Federal Processor.
Use this worksheet if the United States Department of Education has selected your FAFSA for review in a process
called Verification.
VERIFICATION INSTRUCTIONS AND WORKSHEET
(The U.S. Department of Education has approved a temporary solution for aid applicants who have unsuccessfully attempted to use the IRS Tax Data Retrieval Tool or to obtain IRS Tax Return transcripts. If you attempted to use both the Data Retrieval Tool and to obtain transcripts, yet have been unable to do so, please send a signed copy of your 2011 IRS 1040 Federal Tax Return. We must receive signed tax returns by Monday July 9, 2012 in order to qualify for the exception. After that date, the requirement will revert to use of the IRS Tax Data Retrieval Tool or submission of the IRS Tax Return transcripts.)
Current students: Do not complete this form unless the Financial Aid Office instructs you to do so. Students will be notified via email if verification documents are required.
Freshmen and new transfer students: Each year, some students who file a FAFSA are selected in the Federal government's verification process. Ordinarily, we wait until we know that a student has been selected for verification, and then we send a letter telling the student they are selected and listing the forms that need to be sent to our office. For incoming students, the process of requesting these forms can delay the completion of the financial aid package by several weeks or more. Therefore, if you wish to avoid this possible delay, you can send us the Verification Worksheet below and the forms listed in the Verification Forms section of the Financial Aid Instructions so that we will already have these forms on file if we find that you are selected for verification. You are not required to send these forms unless you are selected for verification; we are simply offering you the option of doing this now so that you can avoid possible delays if you are selected.
