AICUP Scholarships
Air Products & Chemicals, Inc. Scholarship for Diversity in Engineering & Information Technology - Air Products, Inc. supports women and/or minority students studying engineering or Information Technology with Computer Science or Management Information Systems (MIS) by awarding two students a renewable $7,500 scholarship as well as the opportunity for an internship at Air Products, Inc. Students must have a minimum GPA of 2.7 and will be enrolled as a junior in fall 2009.
Good Citizen Scholarship - Each year, AICUP provides a scholarship opportunity funded through its endowment. In the 2006-2007 academic year, AICUP awarded seven $1,000 Commonwealth “Good Citizen” scholarships. This scholarship is reserved for students who have shown an extraordinary commitment to community service, and who have demonstrated creativity in shaping their volunteer activities.
McLean Scholarship for Nursing & Physician Assistant Majors - In 1998 the McLean Contributionship gave AICUP $300,000 to endow the McLean Scholarship Program for Nursing and Physician Assistant Majors. This year AICUP awarded seven $2500 scholarships to undergraduate nursing or physician assistant majors who demonstrate leadership qualities.
The Michael Baker Scholarship for Diversity in Engineering - The Michael Baker Scholarship for Diversity in Engineering is designed to support women and/or minority engineering students specializing in civil, environmental, or architectural engineering. A $2500 scholarship will be awarded to a Junior for the Fall of 2009 and provided the student maintains appropriate academic standards, the scholarship is renewed for one year and an internship at Michael Baker Corporation is provided upon graduation.
HDR Engineering, Scholarship for Diversity in Engineering - Because of it’s commitment to creating educational opportunities for minority students, HDR Engineering, Inc. established a scholarship program which will award a $2500 scholarship to a woman and/or minority student who is in their junior year in Fall 2009 and is majoring in. Provided the student maintains appropriate academic standards, the scholarship is renewed for one year and an internship at HDR Engineering Inc. is provided upon graduation.
UPS Foundation - The UPS Foundation has provided scholarships to Pennsylvania’s independent colleges and universities through FIHE for more than 30 years. Each year, students from all of AICUP’s 84 member institutions receive UPS scholarships; awardees are chosen by each individual institution. This year, UPS has provided a total of $228,250 to AICUP institutions.

This year, the Susquehanna Section of ASME International (American Society of Mechanical Engineers
) will raise its annual private scholarship from $1,000 to $1,500 to a deserving student whose career plan is to become a mechanical engineer. They grant this award according to the criteria established by the Susquehanna Section. Their emphasis is on scholarship and financial need. Applicants must have completed their sophomore year in a bachelor’s degree program. Application deadline is June 1, 2009. Industrial Automation Engineering College Scholarships ASCO Numatics, a division of Emerson, is a manufacturer of comprehensive fluid automation solutions, flow control, and pneumatics. They are offering the 2009/2010 engineering college scholarship program aimed at rewarding exceptional undergraduate and graduate students pursuing a career in manufacturing and processing engineering. ASCO Numatics will award two, $5,000 scholarships to U.S. engineering students who are pursuing careers in industrial automation-related disciplines. The scholarships are merit-based and will be awarded on the candidate’s potential for leadership and for making a significant contribution to the engineering, instrumentation, systems, and automation professions, particularly as they relate to the application of fluid control and fluid power technologies. Scholarship recipients may be eligible for an ASCO Numatics internship. Applications must be submitted online at www.asconumatics.com/scholarship by June 30, 2009.
The
Scholarship is available to students who are attending or planning to attend an accredited U.S. college. You must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and be in good standing at your current institution. This award is offered every three months and the deadlines are: March 15, May 31, August 31, and December 31. The Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship offers a competition for awards
for undergraduate study abroad. This scholarship provides awards for US
undergraduate students who are receiving federal Pell Grant funding at a
2-year or 4-year college. Online information is available at www.iie.org/gilman.
Estamos Unidos de Pennsylvania (EUP) announces the availability of the 2009–2010 Estamos Unidos de Pennsylvania Scholarship for senior students in high school, non-traditional students and current college students. The scholarship’s fund will be applied to recipient’s accounts for tuition, fees and/or book expenses. Awards will be $1,000 for full time students, or prorated to reflect part-time status. The Harrisburg Alumni Chapter of the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. is offering the Dr. Jesse A. Bryan Scholarship for 2009-2010. The total amount of this award is $1,000. The first payment of $500 is distributed when we receive a copy of the students fall registration and the remaining $500 is distributed upon successful completion of fall semester of enrollment and proof of spring registration. Eligibility Criteria: 1. Be a graduating high school senior in the Harrisburg area. 2. Must have a GPA of 2.5 or better. Official transcript required. 3. Demonstrate Personal Initiative, civic responsibility, and school involvement. 4. Must be accepted to an institution of higher learning by June of 2008. 4. All eligible full-time undergraduate students majoring in a healthcare related field, entering their Junior or Senior year in the Fall of 2009 are encouraged to apply. This year, there will be five awards available, each in the amount of $5,000. The application is available online, and is to be filled out directly on their website, www.gallagherkoster.com. Auxiliary is offering THE EARNEST R. MCDOWELL HEALTH CAREER SCHOLARSHIP. Permanent residents of the Greater Harrisburg Area are invited to apply for scholarship award consideration in their pursuit of higher education in a health career field.
