AAUW Logo

 

The Harrisburg Branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) is offering two scholarships to be awarded for the Fall 2013 term. Criteria are described below.

- Enrolled as a full-time student in the spring and fall 2013 terms

-.Demonstrate financial need

     
   

Beverly J. Smith Memorial Scholarship Amount: $2,500 Criteria:

- Female student having completed at least 60 credits toward a Bachelor’s degree by the end of May 2013

- Permanent resident of Dauphin, Cumberland, or Perry County

- 3.4 GPA or above

     
   

Martha M. Dohner Memorial Scholarship Amount: $1,000 Additional Criteria:

-Female student having completed at least 15 credits towards a Bachelor’s degree by the end of May 2013

- Permanent resident of Dauphin or Cumberland County

- 3.25 GPA or above

Founded in Baltimore in 1924, Central Scholarship Bureau (CSB) helps students in Maryland realize their academic and professional goals through interest-free loans and grants to attend accredited institutions within the United States.
     
     

 

Shaker, Cherry, & Amish Furniture

 

The DutchCrafters Amish Furniture Heritage Scholarship (www.dutchcrafters.com/heritage-scholarship) recognizes undergraduate students who draw upon their cultural heritage to shape their vocational aspirations, add creative value to their future employers, and serve their communities.

     
    For the 2013-14 academic year, five students will be recognized with an award of $500 each.  Whether you are in nursing, education, business or engineering, this recognizes that the potential for creative value often lies within that which has been passed along to you from previous generations.  Application is due May 1, 2013.
     
     

 

 

The Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship offers a competition for awards for undergraduate study abroad. This scholarship provides awards for US undergraduate students who are receiving federal Pell Grant funding at a 2-year or 4-year college.

Thermo

S C I E N T I F I C

 

The Thermo Scientific Pierce Scholarship Program for the Fall  2013 semester includes two (2) $10,000 scholarships and four (4) $5,000 scholarships, to be awarded to undergraduate and graduate students with a declared major of biology, chemistry, biochemistry, or a related life-science field. To qualify for the scholarship, students must have a GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) and be enrolled in an accredited college for university for the Fall 2013 semester. In addition to these qualifications, students must also be legal United States residents, meaning that students possessing appropriate Visa status in order to study in the United States are also eligible.

     
   
Students may apply for the scholarship through the Thermo Scientific Pierce Scholarship Website. Applications will be accepted until 11:59:59 p.m. CT on July 31, 2013. All questions regarding the scholarship may be directed to piercescholarship@thermofisher.com
