Free Scholarship Search Services FastWeb scholarship search (www.fastweb.com) offers an online searchable database of more than 1.5 million scholarships. Used by colleges across the United States, FastWeb is one of the largest, most accurate and frequently updated scholarship database. If you supply an email address, they will notify you when new awards that match your profile are added to the databases. FastWeb compares your background with a database of awards. Only those awards that fit your profile are identified as matches. The SmartStudent Guide to Financial Aid (www.finaid.org) is one of the most comprehensive sources of student financial aid information, advice and tools, on the Internet. FinAid's custom calculators can help you figure out how much school will cost, how much you need to save and how much aid you'll need. The most popular calculators are the College Cost Projector, Savings Plan Designer (Flat Contribution), Expected Family Contribution and Financial Aid Calculator and Loan Calculator. The College Board's Scholarship Search (apps.collegeboard.com/cbsearch_ss/welcome.jsp) lists scholarships and other types of financial aid programs from more than 2,300 national, state, public and private sources. The database is updated annually. SRN Express (www.srnexpress.com) is a free web version of the Scholarship Resource Network (SRN) database. The SRN database focuses on private-sector, non-need-based aid, and includes information about awards from more than 8,000 programs. The database is updated annually. The Peterson's scholarship search (www.petersons.com/ss/code/prompt.asp) lists awards from about 2,000 sponsors. This is the same database used to update Peterson's Scholarships, Grants and Prizes book. NextStudent (www.nextstudent.com/scholarship_search/scholarship_search.asp) offers a free scholarship search as way to attract students to their student loan products and services. The search results lists each named award from the same award program separately, leading to a large number of matches that correspond to a single application form. College Connection Scholarships (www.collegescholarships.com) has free quality information which includes all of the details you need to apply now,
including eligibility requirements, deadlines, amounts, contact name, address,
phone number and website of the scholarship sponsor. New scholarships are posted monthly. There is no fee to apply to any scholarship listed on their website, but you must
contact them directly. They do charge a fee for their services! |
