Coordinator of Telecounseling (Posting Date: 11/05/09) The Department of Admissions at Messiah College currently has an opening for the position of Coordinator of Telecounseling. Along with traditional recruitment activities, this position provides leadership to the telecounseling initiatives and is responsible for communicating the mission of Messiah College to prospective students and their families. Job Description Department: Admissions Reports To: Director of Admissions Supervises: Up to 8 Student Workers
Position Summary: Along with traditional recruitment activities, this position provides leadership to the telecounseling initiatives and is responsible for communicating the mission of Messiah College to prospective students and their families.
Education Required: BA/BS required Experience Required: College admissions experience preferred; some supervisory experience preferred Skills, Characteristics Required for Position:
Special Working Conditions: Requires valid driver’s license and the ability to travel frequently. Many duties of this position are performed during the evening and weekend hours.
1. Counsel potential students for recruitment purposes in various settings: on campus, phone, or email. 2. Manage a recruitment territory by monitoring and assessing prospect/applicant activity 3. Plan and execute personal travel to high school, college fair programs, conventions, etc. 4. Review and make recommendations regarding applications from assigned recruitment territory. 5. Submit regular reports regarding recruitment activities. 6. Administer telecounseling projects and report on project outcomes. 7. Interview and hire student telecounseling staff. 8. Lead, manage and supervise student telecounseling staff. 9. Interview, hire and supervise the full-time Admissions student summer staff as a shared responsibility with the Admissions Coordinator. 10. Configure and maintain Campus Call Telecounseling System. 11. Serve as a liaison with designated campus departments. 12. Maintain consistent and reliable attendance.
1. Perform all other duties as directed by the Director of Admissions. |
