The Department of Communication in the School of the Humanities at Messiah College invites applications for a term-tenure track position in film and media studies at the rank of Assistant Professor.

Responsibilities: Teaching responsibilities include courses in the history and theory of film, the Communication major’s core curriculum, and the College’s general education program. Candidates who can teach film studies and develop the department’s offerings in digital media studies will receive the highest consideration. Ability to contribute to the cultural diversity of the department’s offerings is highly desirable.  Interest and expertise in web development and digital communication is a plus.  Evidence of a strong commitment to teaching undergraduates in the liberal arts tradition and to scholarly research is expected.

Qualifications: Ph.D. in film studies or closely related discipline required.  Candidates must be able to support and contribute to the Christian mission of Messiah College.
