Campus Events Worker II -- Naugle The Department of Campus Events has an opening for a full time, first shift, Campus Events Worker II (custodial). This position is located in the Naugle Residence Hall. This is a full time, 12 month position. This experienced custodial position is dedicated to cleaning of public spaces, resident living areas and restrooms in the Naugle residence during the academic year. During the summer this position is responsible for the cleaning of dorm rooms as well. This position supervises student workers. Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent; have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and share the enthusiasm of being a part of a college community and have the ability to interact professionally with students and conference guests. Must have effective communication and cleaning skills; ability to demonstrate respect for others; act as a role-model for students; must be detail oriented; self-motivated; and have basic computer proficiency and organization skills.

Job Description Department: Campus Event - Operations Reports To: Campus Events Supervisor Supervises: 1-15 Work Study Students
Position Summary: Experienced custodial position dedicated to building maintenance and cleaning. In addition, this position is responsible for the set-up & tear-down of special events, classroom set up, and event support. This position supervises teams of work study students.
Education Required: High School or equivalent Experience Required: 2 years custodial or events experience, supervisory experience preferred. Skills, Characteristics Required for Position:
Special Working Conditions: Must be able to: lift 50lbs, drive campus vehicle as requested, stoop, kneel and stretch as demanded by cleaning/event set-up tasks. Position is scheduled in shifts which may include days, nights, weekends, and holidays. There will be occasional shift variations to include extended or adjusted hours as needed for coverage. There will be requirements to work outdoors, including occasional requirements to work during inclement weather. This position is essential; essential personnel report to work as scheduled in the event of an emergency closing or delay.
1. Identify and perform daily, periodic and project cleaning/ basic maintenance tasks in assigned areas. Ensure the best possible level of cleanliness. 2. Organize, coordinate and perform set-up/tear-down of classes, special events, and conference accommodations. This includes moving furniture and equipment as needed. Collaborate with other shifts/departments as needed. 3. Supervise and train student workers. Monitor and inspect work of student workers. Process student time sheets. Evaluate student workers. 4. Maintain entries in the Event Description Book as requested. 5. In the event of inclement weather, report to work when required so as to assist with snow removal. 6. Maintain equipment as requested, including maintaining data, repair requests, etc. Communicate concerns related to equipment/facilities immediately. 7. Order supplies as requested. 8. Provide building security by locking and unlocking doors and assisting evacuees during fire alarms. 9. Maintain consistent and reliable attendance.
1. Provide cleaning, set-up, and tear-down coverage for absent employees as requested. 2. Other duties as assigned. |
