Installing GroupWise Mobile on a Smart Phone:

Please be aware before performing these steps a data plan with your carrier may be required and text messaging charges may apply depending on the plan you have with your carrier.

  1. Login to gwmobile.messiah.edu with your employee username and password. (Note: You may return to this location at any time to make modifications to your account's configuration settings).

  2. Verify that the time zone is correct (Eastern)

  3. Fill in City (Grantham) and zip code (17027)

  4. Verify that your Name and e-mail address are correctly filled in.

  5. Click Next

  6. Chose Smartphone OS-Based Mobile Phone

  7. Click Next

  8. Select your Wireless Carrier from the list

  9. Enter your Phone Number: **********

  10. Click Submit

  11. You will see this on the screen: A Text (SMS) message has just been sent to your device. Once you receive it, open it by selecting the Start menu and choosing Messaging, and then choosing Text Messages. In the list that appears, choose the message that just arrived and select the link in that message to download and install the client.

  12. Verify you got the text message on the device and click Next on the website.

  13. Click on Pick Contacts to Sync

  14. Pick the contacts that you want to sync.  DO NOT do frequent contacts.

  15. Once you have done that click Update Total Selected.

  16. Verify number change and click submit.

  17. Click on Push Settings.

  18. Push Monitor Settings choose E-mail, Contacts, and Calendar.

  19. Change time to whatever you want.

  20. Leave Push All E-mail selected and click save.

  21. You can change time frame for calendar and e-mail under performance Settings. 

  22. Click logout

  23. Do what the above message says in step 13: Once you get the Text Message (SMS/MMS) highlight it and click ok on the device.  Then when you see the message click ok again on the device. Then use the down cursor to highlight the web address and click ok.  It will go out to the web and bring up a screen.  Scroll down to Smartphone (if Cingular/At&t) and highlight it and click ok.  It will then open that up and ask you if you want to download PkgDownload.cab.  Click yes.  It will download the package and then ask you to confirm that you want to install it.  Click yes.  You will then see it installing.  It will say that the program may not display properly.  Click ok.  It will then say it successfully installed.  Click Done.  Click Sync.  It will ask you for your password.  Put password in and press ok.  It will ask you to refresh the calendar info.  Click refresh.  It should be done.

  24. Then run Intellisync under Start, Intellisync.

  25. Menu, Push/Readysync Setup

  26. Check Enable Push

  27. Check Enable ReadySync

  28. Sync Time: Everyday (12am to 11:59 pm).

  29. Every 10 minutes

  30. Check Start ReadySync when device connects

  31. Check Disable for low battery and change to 10%

  32. Check initiate connection and power on device

  33. High speed = Sync

  34. Low Speed = SyncXpress

  35. Check Use Network Push

  36. Uncheck use SMS Push (VERY IMPORTANT).

  37. Click OK
