Outlook: Change Desktop Alert Settings   Open Outlook. Click the File tab. Click Options. In the Outlook Options window, click Mail.  To turn off Desktop Alert, un-check the Display a Desktop Alert. To modify the "look and feel" of the Desktop Alert (i.e. Length that it stays on screen, position on screen, transparency, etc). Click on the Desktop Alert Settings button to the right Click OK.
