E-Mail
All new students are given Groupwise email accounts. Email addresses are the same as the student's user name. Students use Groupwise WebAccess, at http://mymail.messiah.edu, to send and receive their email anywhere there is an internet connection. Students do not need to be on campus to use this e-mail.
Enter your Messiah account username and password and press Login. If you enter this information correctly, you should see the following screen:
This is the main groupwise window. It consists of three main sections:
- At the top, a bar indicating the section of the email system which is currently open.
- On the left, a series of icons provides a menu to the different sections of the email system.
- The rest of the screen is an area in which the body of each different section is displayed. This area may be further divided, depending on the section.
A brief overview of each section can be found below:
Mailbox - The central location in which all messages, appointments, tasks, notes, phone messages, etc. are stored. This section of the email system is divided into two parts (separated by columns):
- The folder tree (on the left)
- The list of items within the current folder (on the right)
Compose - Opens a window in which you can create new messages, appointments, tasks, notes, phone messages, etc. |
Address Book - Provides access to the address books. The address books allow storage and retrieval of email addresses. |
Calendar - A presentation of the appointments, tasks, and notes on a daily or monthly basis. |
Exit - Closes the current user's email and returns to the login screen. |
Help - Displays Groupwise WebAccess Help, the help provided by the email system. (Clicking the link above will take you to the Groupwise WebAccess Help pages.) This help system is more extensive than these pages, but is provided by the software, so some options may not be available on Messiah College accounts. |
