Dorca, originally from Musoma, Tanzania, lives with her husband and three sons in Lancaster, PA. She holds a Masters of Science in Counseling and College Student Personnel from Shippensburg University and a B.A. in Psychology from Millersville University. She enjoys discussing world events, reading, gardening and traveling. Dorca did her practical training as a Career Counselor at Millersville University. More recently, at Franklin & Marshall College, she worked with student groups at the Office of Multicultural Affairs, and assisted with advising students for study abroad and international students at the Office of International Programs.
As Director of International Student Programs at Messiah College, Dorca oversees the extended orientation process for international students and the children of missionaries and other students whose parents live abroad. She provides ongoing advising and support to international students, students who are the children of missionaries (commonly abbreviated "MKs" for "Missionary Kids"), and additional students who also operate within two or more cultures (whom we abbreviate "TCKs" for "Third Culture Kids"). Dorca works closely with the international and MK/TCK student organization on campus, ISA/MuKappa. She oversees the Friendship Family Program which connects international and MK/TCK students with families from the Messiah and local Christian community.
