Dr. King Community Engagement Day

In celebrating Dr. King's life, come engage our local community through a day of service. Join hundreds of other volunteers throughout the Capital Region to take action at project sites throughout the city. This day is a unique opportunity to meet Harrisburg residents and community leaders by serving together. For more information or to register, contact the Agape Center at (717) 796-1800 Ext. 7255.

"My Journey with the Civil Rights Movement"

    • Join us for this musical event! Ms. Rutha Harris
      will share her journey with the civil rights
      movement through the music of the movement.

    • Ms. Harris joined the Albany Movement and the
      Original Freedom Singers, traveling over 50,000
      miles singing for the cause of freedom and
      raising funds for the Student Non-Violent
      Coordinating Committee. Along with Dr. King,
      she was jailed four times during the Albany,
      Georgia Movement in 1961-1962.
