Dr. King Community Engagement Day
In celebrating Dr. King's life, come engage our local community through a day of service. Join hundreds of other volunteers throughout the Capital Region to take action at project sites throughout the city. This day is a unique opportunity to meet Harrisburg residents and community leaders by serving together.

"My Journey with the Civil Rights Movement"

- Join us for this musical event! Ms. Rutha Harris
will share her journey with the civil rights
movement through the music of the movement.
Ms. Harris joined the Albany Movement and the
Original Freedom Singers, traveling over 50,000
miles singing for the cause of freedom and
raising funds for the Student Non-Violent
Coordinating Committee. Along with Dr. King,
she was jailed four times during the Albany,
Georgia Movement in 1961-1962.
