Messiah College sponsors a wide range of traveling music ensembles that perform in churches, schools, and other community and business organizations across the region, throughout the U.S. and abroad. Messiah College students, directed by music faculty members, inspire audiences through their high-quality performances and extensive repertoire of vocal and instrumental music, designed to meet a broad variety of musical tastes – including classical, sacred, and contemporary music, jazz, big band, and gospel.
Regionally, Messiah's traveling ensembles have performed with well-known art organizations such as the Harrisburg Symphony Orchestra, and in such venues as City Hall, the Pennsylvania State Capitol, The Forum, and for popular local professional sports venues such as the Harrisburg Heat and Harrisburg Senators. Several ensembles have also traveled internationally, performing most recently in churches and community concert halls throughout Ireland, England, and Scotland.
Messiah College traveling music ensembles offer a wide selection of performance options, so event organizers may choose to involve an ensemble as best meets the needs of their organizations. The traveling ensembles generally request an honorarium, contingent on the size of the group, and charge a small fee to cover travel expenses. Please contact us to learn more about inviting a Messiah College traveling music ensemble to perform for your organization.
Mission Statement Messiah College music ensembles are committed to providing high-quality academic and performance experience for students; contributing to the worship life of the church and the aesthetic life of the community; and strengthening the mission of the College through student recruitment, public relations, development, and alumni relations.
