What do we do?

The Web Office is responsible for designing and managing web pages on the Messiah College web site, as well as consulting with the various campus webmasters who design web sites for their departments or programs. The following are some of the programs and services the Web Office provides to the Messiah College community:
  • Web page design and maintenance of web page templates for the Messiah College web site
  • Design consulting and initiation of web projects for campus departments/programs
  • Communication and implementation of graphic and editorial standards for Messiah’s web site
  • Monitoring of the performance and functionality of web pages to ensure maximum efficiency and a quality user experience for visitors
  • Monitoring of the College’s web sites for inaccurate and outdated content
  • Creation and maintenance of the College’s governing internet policies
  • Response to technical inquiries received through the Webmaster link on the College’s web site
  • Point of initiation for e-commerce functionality on the Messiah College web site
  • Management of the Web Weavers Forum that serves as the central point of collaboration for campus webmasters
  • Educating the Messiah College community on existing and emerging internet technologies and potential implementation into the College’s web programs
  • Coordination of web server usage, access, upgrades in conjunction with ITS
  • Monitoring and communication of web site activity and interpretation of statistical data into the College’s web marketing strategies
  • Procurement and maintenance of software and hardware for the internet site
  • Oversight of internet copyright violation procedures for students in conjunction with ITS and the Office of Student Programs
