A Message From the Chair of the Board Welcome to the Messiah College Presidential Inauguration website! On behalf of the Board of Trustees, it is my pleasure to cordially invite you to join the Messiah community as we celebrate the inauguration of the College’s eighth president, Dr. Kim S. Phipps--culminating with the inauguration ceremony on Friday, October 14, 2005. As you will read on this website, the Inauguration Committee has planned a variety of festive events in tribute to our new president, centered on the theme “Created and Called for Community.” The board is gratified that President Phipps has selected an inaugural theme that highlights Messiah’s commitment to nurturing authentic community both on and beyond the boundaries of our campus. This time of celebration surrounding Dr. Phipps' inauguration will honor her vision and leadership, showcase the quality of our students, and communicate the distinctives of Messiah’s unique mission--to educate women and men toward maturity of intellect, character, and Christian faith.
