In celebration of the inauguration of President Kim S. Phipps, Messiah College hosted a public lecture by author/writer Anna Quindlen. Quidlen addressed an audience of nearly 900 on the inaugural theme, "Created and Called for Community." Afterwards, she signed books at a reception for students and other inaugural guests. Over the last 30 years, Quindlen’s work has appeared in some of America’s most influential newspapers, many of its best-known magazines, and on both fiction and non-fiction bestseller lists. A novelist who also writes the prestigious “Last Word” column in Newsweek magazine, Quindlen's latest novel, Blessings, is a New York Times bestseller.
