President's Cabinet
The Messiah College President's Cabinet is comprised of senior administrators representing the various facets of the College's day-to-day operations. Cabinet meets weekly during the academic year and serves an advisory role to the president.

Randall Basinger, Provost As provost, Dr. Basinger provides administrative oversight to the College’s curricular and cocurricular programming. In this role, he gives leadership to all educational program development and the hiring, evaluation, and development of all of the College’s faculty and cocurricular educators.

John Chopka, Vice President for Enrollment Management Mr. Chopka oversees the offices of admissions, financial aid, and volunteer & church relations. These offices are responsible for recruiting prospective students and working with strategic influencers (parents, guidance counselors, and youth workers).

Amanda Coffey, Vice President of Human Resources and Compliance As director of human resources, Ms. Coffey oversees all aspects of professional employment for faculty and staff at Messiah College. Her office is charged with responsibility for the employment strategies and practices of the College. As such, human resources manages activities such as recruiting, professional development, employee relations, compensation, and benefits so as to support the productivity and engagement of the College’s employees.

Barry Goodling `79, Vice President for Advancement As vice president for advancement, Mr. Goodling oversees several vital functions of the College, including fundraising (development), marketing and public relations, and alumni and parent relations. These offices work in harmony to ensure that financial resources exist for the implementation of new programs, facilities, and student financial aid; to further communicate the mission and brand of Messiah College to local, regional, and national audiences; and to help parents and alumni feel connected to each other and the institution.

Kris Hansen-Kieffer, Dean of Students/Vice Provost The responsibilities and programming of the dean of students' office are many. With a talented, student-oriented team, Dr. Hansen-Kieffer oversees everything from athletics to campus ministries, the health and wellness center to student programing, and residence life to multicultural and international programs.

Kathie Shafer `85, Vice President for Operations Ms. Shafer oversees the division of the College that significantly impacts students’ and employees’ everyday life including the dining, custodial, facilities maintenance, campus event coordination, safety, and groundskeeping teams. She also has responsibility for Messiah's sustainability initiatives as well as the Campus Store and College Press.

William Strausbaugh `79, Chief Information Officer and Associate Provost As Associate Provost, Dr. Strausbaugh has responsibility for curriculum development, the associated governance process, the registrar's office, and student learning support services. In addition, his role oversees institutional research and analysis and student learning assessment, a process that reviews curricular and cocurricular strategies to determine whether students are achieving prescribed learning objectives. As chief information officer for the College, Dr. Strausbaugh gives leadership to campus information technology services which includes educational technology, administrative information services, and networking and telecommunications.
