Specializing in rhetoric and composition, Jean comes to Messiah from Lee University, where she provided leadership to the composition program and also taught in Lee’s graduate school of education. She has earned a D.A. from Middle Tennessee State University, an M.A. from Duke University, and a B.S. from Vanderbilt University. After raising four children, Jean and her husband John spent much of the previous year in Kenya adopting two toddlers—Robbie (3) and Maya (2). The family lives in Harrisburg.
Bryan Engle
Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach / Aquatics Director
Bryan Engle returned to his alma mater in September 2005 as assistant coach of the men’s basketball team and aquatics director. A 2003 graduate of Messiah College, Bryan earned a master’s degree from the University of Kentucky in 2005. While at Messiah, Bryan was captain of the baseball team and an all-conference pitcher; he also served as chair of the Student Athlete Advisory committee. He is a loyal fan of the Kentucky Wildcats, but his passion for the Messiah Falcons is even greater! He lives in Marietta.
Corrie Gustafson
Residence Director of Sollenberger Hall and Kelly Apartments
Corrie Gustafson is originally from Columbus, Ohio. She earned a B.A. in religious studies from Westmont College and a Master of Divinity from Regent College. Corrie loves to travel and has spent several months exploring Europe and a few Middle Eastern countries. When Corrie is at home, she spends leisure time reading, letter-writing, and singing along to good tunes.
