The North American mammal collection is home to mountain sheep, goats, mountain lions, a Kodiak Island bear, great elk, American bison, and a musk ox.
Six of the museum’s dioramas were created by renowned artists Jerry Connolly and John Schreffler. Connolly is a career wildlife artist who has painted diorama backgrounds and wildlife scenes at the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History and Technology and the Carnegie Museum. Schreffler, a commercial artist, has worked for the Pennsylvania state museum for more than 30 years.
