Messiah College recognizes retiring professor for 22 years of service
Ronald J. Webb, visiting professor of management and managing director of the International Business Institute is recognized for 22 years of service to Messiah College on the occasion of his retirement. In his first stint at Messiah College, Professor Webb served as chair of the department of Management and Business for 18 years. He provided crucial leadership at a time when the department was in its infancy. Many of the current programs were developed under his guidance and the department grew to over 400 students under his leadership. Professor Webb’s interest in the international arena led him to develop the international business major and to seek affiliation with the International Business Institute. He also promoted the collaboration with the Dutch and the very successful relationship with Hogeschool Ede, the Christian University in The Netherlands.
After spending six years away from Messiah College serving other institutions of higher learning, he felt the call to return to provide leadership to the International Business Institute as it found its academic home at Messiah. In addition, he has taught in the areas of human resource management and leadership. He currently serves on the board of Hope International and has faithfully taught English as a second language to Hispanic immigrants. His passion for international education has inspired many and we wish him Godspeed as he enters a new phase of service.
