The fall issue of The Bridge included a feature of the multitude of ways that worship is a part of campus life at Messiah. Alumni Walt Boraczek '93, who served as chaplain of his senior class and director of the campus ministry Powerhouse, wrote to us after learning that the weekly student-led worship service is still going strong.
"I was excited to hear that the Powerhouse ministry is still running. From the article, it appeared that the information about when Powerhouse began wasn't readily available. Powerhouse began in 1989 and was started by a student named Sharon who graduated in 1991. In the spring semester of 1992, I took over as the third leader of the group and ran it until my graduation in 1993. Over 600 students came to the final service I hosted which lasted almost 4 hours. We overflowed the Grantham Church with the sanctuary, the lobby, and the balcony at standing room only. I'm thrilled to know that the ministry is still a vital part of the Messiah experience. "
