Alumni package winner
Stephanie DeLuca is getting to know Messiah College very well, having sent all three of her daughters (Krista ’04, Renee ’06, and Julie ’09) off to Grantham for their college educations. She lives in Newburgh, N.Y., where she teaches elementary Spanish at a private school, and is finishing up her degree in Hispanic studies. When she’s not teaching, Stephanie enjoys hiking, swimming, planning parties, Bible study, and reading.

Rachel Mackin ’02, the winner of the faculty package, teaches high school English at Delaware County Christian School in Newtown Square, Pa. Rachel grew up in the Philippines where her parents were missionaries with Campus Crusade for Christ. When she entered college in 1998, Messiah was the first school she’d ever attended in the United States—and now she’s started a family trend: both her brothers, Luke ’05 and Joshua ’08, have now attended Messiah, as well.
Alan Claassen-Thrush ’02, who graduated from Messiah with a double major in music and sociology, is a third-year Master of Divinity student at Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, Calif., where he also works in the admissions office. Alan and his wife, Beth ’03, love being married and exploring the Los Angeles region together. Their only major furniture purchases thus far have been bookshelves.
