To Serve & To Lead campaign successfully concludes after raising $50.5 million—the largest fundraising campaign in the College’s history.

To celebrate the successful completion of To Serve & To Lead, the Office of Publications commissioned Messiah College Dining Services to create a large confection to festively symbolize this important milestone. Several students—representing the more than 2,900 students touched by the outcomes of this campaign —joined us in visually expressing gratitude to alumni, parents, and benefactors, who so generously invested in their Messiah College education.

“Fields of Growth” construction initiative begins

In order to provide substantial facility upgrades for Messiah’s nationally recognized athletic groups, significant funds from the campaign are being used to enhance the facilities at Starry Athletic Field, the College’s primary outdoor athletic complex.


The College continues to equip students to serve and to lead . . .
The campaign also secured funds for and helped to establish several other programs and organizations, both on and off campus. These include: the Brethren in Christ Heritage Fund, an endowment to promote programs and initiatives that advance an understanding of the Brethren in Christ Church and its relationship with Messiah College;  The Steinbrecher Student Research Scholarships in the Sciences; the launching of the Harrisburg Institute for Community Research and Collaborative Partnerships, an urban residential-learning community for students; and the Center for Public Humanities, which brings academic, civic, and cultural communities together for engaging discussion and debate about significant contemporary issues; and support for the Collaboratory for Strategic Partnerships and Applied Research.


In the future . . .
To Serve and To Lead also raised initial funds for the expansion of the Climenhaga Fine Arts Center, home of Messiah’s School of the Arts. Preliminary planning continues with the goal of helping to meet the critical space and facility needs of the students and faculty in this School.  Addressing these pressing needs remains the central building priority of the College’s next campaign.
