Rebecca Gambler ’99

Major: Political science

Award: Fulbright Scholarship, a $15,000 award, which helped Gambler pursue a master’s degree in political science from the University of Toronto

Additional education: Gambler  earned a master’s degree in international relations from the Maxwell School of Syracuse University.

Vocation: She is currently a senior analyst with the United States Government Accountability Office, Washington, D.C., working on homeland security and justice issues.

“I was extremely honored and humbled to have won a Fulbright Award,” says Rebecca Gambler. “Dr. John Harles was an invaluable source of guidance and support to me throughout the process, and I could not have done it without him.”

Sara Kasper '02

Sara Kasper ’02

Major: Politics

Award: Carnegie Endowment for International Peace (CEIP) fellowship, which allowed her to work as a junior research fellow with Carnegie’s China Program

Additional education: Kasper graduated from Harvard Law School in June 2006.

Vocation: She is working in Washington, D.C., with a law firm in the defense, national security, and government contracts group.

“I would recommend that anyone interested in foreign policy consider the Carnegie Fellowship,” notes Sara Kasper ’02. “It offers junior fellows the opportunity to work with prominent scholars and provides a unique view into the [Washington] D.C. foreign policy establishment.”
