Residence Life
The Housing Application process for first year, transfer, and readmitted students is accomplished by completing the Housing Agreement and Application located under the Campus Life section of MC Square - for students who have paid their pre-registration deposit. Assignments are prioritized by the date the admissions pre-registration deposit is received for all incoming accepted students. If you have a specific roommate request, this can be done on the questionnaire portion of the 2008-09 Housing Agreement and Application.
Types of Rooms/Apartments:
Single Rooms—These rooms are constructed for one resident. There is one bed, dresser, desk, desk chair, bookshelf, and closet. The single room rate is $2150 per semester.
Double Rooms—These rooms are constructed for two residents. The beds provided may be bunked and there are two dressers, desks, desk chairs, bookshelves, and closets. The double room rate is $2010 per semester.
Designed Triple Rooms—These rooms are designed to accommodate three residents. The beds provided may be bunked two high for metal-framed beds and three high for wood-framed beds and there are three dressers, closets, desks, desk chairs, and two bookshelves for the residents of the room. The triple room rate is $1610 per semester.
Supplemental Triple—Each year, based on the size of the incoming first year class, the college may deem it necessary to implement supplemental housing. These are double rooms that are furnished to accommodate three residents. The beds provided may be bunked two high and there are three dressers, desks, and desk chairs for the residents of the room. Residents share two closets and bookshelves. The supplemental triple room rate is $1450 per semester. Students who are assigned to a supplemental triple will be notified in the assignment letter they will receive in late July. As spaces become available students will be given the option of moving to a double room. If a student living in a supplemental triple is not offered a permanent housing space after 60% of the semester, a credit of $100 will be issued to the student’s business office account.
Quads—These rooms are designed to house four residents. The rooms are furnished with four beds that may be bunked, four desks, desk chairs, dressers, closets and three bookshelves. The quad room rate is $1495 per semester.
Apartment-Style Housing—Apartment-style spaces are a housing option for students with 57 or more earned post high school credits. There are two-bedroom apartments which house five students and one-bedroom apartments which house three students. All apartments have air-conditioning, carpeting, cable TV, and internet connections. They are equipped with a kitchen (with stove and refrigerator), bedroom furniture, family room furniture, and a dining room table and chairs. The one (1) bedroom apartment rate is $2065 per semester and two (2) bedroom apartment rate is $2010 per semester.

First-Year Housing
Hess— A co-educational residence hall housing 140 students. Hess is reserved for first year students, and is located within the North Complex (Miller, Hess and Grantham). It shares a computer lab, recreation room, convenience store, laundry rooms, TV lounges and an outdoor courtyard. All rooms have cable TV and Internet connections as well as carpet and air-conditioning. In addition, each floor has a lounge, public kitchen and private study rooms.
Witmer — A co-educational residence hall housing 305 students. Witmer is reserved for first year students and is located on the south side of campus next to Mellinger Apartments. It has a computer lab, recreation room, dance studio, laundry room, and TV lounge. All rooms have cable TV and Internet connections as well as carpet and air-conditioning. In addition, each floor has a lounge, public kitchen and private study rooms.
Naugle — A co-educational residence hall housing 275 students. Naugle is reserved for first year students, and is located on the north side of campus next to Fry Apartments and across the street from Miller Residence Hall. It has a computer lab, recreation room, laundry room, and TV lounge. All rooms have cable TV and Internet connections as well as carpet and air-conditioning. In addition, each floor has a lounge, public kitchen and private study rooms.
Upperclass Housing
Miller— A single-sex residence hall of men housing 140 students. It is located within the North Complex (Miller, Hess and Grantham), which shares a computer lab, recreation room, convenience store, laundry rooms, TV lounges and an outdoor courtyard. All rooms have cable TV and Internet connections as well as carpet and air-conditioning. In addition, each floor has a lounge, public kitchen and private study rooms.
Grantham— A single-sex residence hall of women housing 210 students. It is also in the North Complex (Miller, Hess and Grantham), and shares a computer lab, recreation room, convenience store, laundry rooms, TV lounges and an outdoor courtyard. All rooms have cable TV and Internet connections as well as carpet and air-conditioning. In addition, each floor has a lounge, public kitchen and private study rooms.
Sollenberger— A co-educational residence hall housing 180 students with men and women on separate floors. . Located in South Complex (Bittner, Sollenberger and Mountain View). This complex contains a computer lab, recreation room, exercise room, an outside deck, laundry rooms, TV lounges, South Side Cafe and several meeting rooms. All rooms have cable TV and Internet connections as well as carpet and air-conditioning. In addition, each floor has a lounge, public kitchen and private study rooms.
Bittner— A co-educational residence hall housing 185 students with men and women on separate floors. Located in the South complex (Bittner, Sollenberger and Mountain View), it shares a computer lab, recreation room, exercise room, an outside deck, laundry rooms, TV lounges, South Side Cafe and several meeting rooms. All rooms have cable TV and Internet connections as well as carpet and air-conditioning. In addition, each floor has a lounge, public kitchen and private study rooms.
Mountain View — A co-educational residence hall housing 205 students with men and women on separate floors. Located in South Complex (Bittner, Sollenberger and Mountain View), it shares a computer lab, recreation room, exercise room, an outside deck, laundry rooms, TV lounges, South Side Cafe and several meeting rooms. All rooms have cable TV and Internet connections as well as carpet and air-conditioning. In addition, each floor has a lounge, public kitchen and private study rooms.
On-Campus Apartment-Style Housing

Apartment Buildings:
Fry (222 students) — Campus prayer chapel, lounge, and laundry room. Fry was renovated during the summer of 2007. Renovation included new carpet, cabinetry and furniture.
Kelly (179 students) — Kelly has a computer lab, classroom and laundry room.
Mellinger (179 students) — Mellinger has a classroom, a sand volleyball court adjacent to building, and a laundry room.
Smith (150 students)—
Smith was renovated in summer of 1999 and has a laundry room.
Harrisburg Housing
This housing option is designed to give students an urban living experience and is located in the heart of downtown Harrisburg, approximately 20 minutes away from main campus. The Harrisburg apartments were built during the summer of 2007. All apartments have internal entrances and each apartment has air-conditioning, carpeting, cable TV & internet connections. They are equipped with a kitchen (with stove & refrigerator), bedroom furniture and a kitchen table and chairs. The public space in the apartment building includes a TV lounge and a classroom. There are a limited number of parking spaces available for students living in Harrisburg and a shuttle is provided to and from campus daily. Students living in Harrisburg have a service commitment that they are expected to complete. Students must go through the application process and be granted approval. Applications are accepted in the Spring for the following Fall. The cost for housing is $2065 per semester.
Satellite Housing – The College owns a few satellite houses within walking distance of the campus. These host several programmatic themes. Approval is required to participate. These houses are for upper class students only. For more information, please contact the Office of Residence Life.
