Student Housing for 2013 - 2014


The Housing Application process for first year, transfer, and readmitted students is accomplished by completing the Housing Contract and Application located under the New Studentsection of MC Square - for students who have paid their pre-registration deposit. Assignments are prioritized by the date the admissions pre-registration deposit is received for all incoming accepted students. If you have a specific roommate request, this can be done on the questionnaire portion of the 2013-2014 Housing Agreement and Application.

 

Types of Rooms/Apartments:

Single Rooms—These rooms are constructed for one resident. There is one bed, dresser, desk, desk chair, bookshelf, and closet. The single room rate is $2480 per semester.

Double Rooms—These rooms are constructed for two residents. The beds provided may be bunked and there are two dressers, desks, desk chairs, bookshelves, and closets. The double room rate is $2320 per semester.

Designed Triple Rooms—These rooms are designed to accommodate three residents. The beds provided may be bunked two high for metal-framed beds and three high for wood-framed beds and there are three dressers, closets, desks, desk chairs, and two bookshelves for the residents of the room. The triple room rate is $1840 per semester.

Supplemental Triple—Each year, based on the size of the incoming first year class, the college may deem it necessary to implement supplemental housing. These are double rooms that are furnished to accommodate three residents. The beds provided may be bunked two high and there are three dressers, desks, and desk chairs for the residents of the room. Residents share two closets and bookshelves. The supplemental triple room rate is $2320 per semester, with the opportunity for a $640 credit at the end of the semester if the student is still living in a supplemental triple room. Students who are assigned to a supplemental triple will be notified in the assignment email they will receive in mid July. As spaces become available students will be given the option of moving to a double room.  If a student living in a supplemental triple is not offered a permanent housing space after 60% of the semester, a credit of $75 will be issued to the student’s business office account.

Quads—These rooms are designed to house four residents. The rooms are furnished with four beds that may be bunked, four desks, desk chairs, dressers, closets and three bookshelves. The quad room rate is $1940 per semester.

Quintets- These rooms are only found in Naugle & Witmer and are often called wrap-around rooms because of their large size (check out room 201 on the B side). The rooms are furnished with five beds that may be bunked, five desks, desk chairs, dressers, closets and bookshelves. The quintet room rate is $1840.

 

Types of Housing Options:
Bittner
— A co-educational residence hall housing approximately 180 students. Bittner is reserved for first year and transfer students, and is located within the South Complex (Bittner, Sollenberger & Mountain View). It shares a computer lab, recreation room, laundry rooms, TV lounges and a large yard that is referred to by students as the "Bittner Beach". All rooms have cable TV and Internet connections as well as carpet and air-conditioning.  In addition, each floor has a lounge, public kitchen and private study rooms.

WitmerA co-educational residence hall housing approximately 305 students. Witmer is reserved for first year students and is located on the south side of campus next to Mellinger Apartments. It has a computer lab, recreation room, dance studio, laundry room, and TV lounge. All rooms have cable TV and Internet connections as well as carpet and air-conditioning.  In addition, each floor has a lounge, public kitchen and private study rooms.

NaugleA co-educational residence hall housing approximately 275 students. Naugle is reserved for first year students, and is located on the north side of campus next to Fry Apartments and across the street from Miller Residence Hall. It has a computer lab, recreation room, laundry room, and TV lounge. All rooms have cable TV and Internet connections as well as carpet and air-conditioning.  In addition, each floor has a lounge, public kitchen and private study rooms.
