Residence Life at Messiah College

Katie Rousopoulos

Residence Director for Bittner Residence

Katie joined the Messiah College family in August of 2009

Prior to joining the Messiah College community, Katie spent most of her life in Indiana, where she grew up in Indianapolis. Following high school, Katie studied at the Greek Bible Institute in Pikermi, Greece. It was there that she learned more about her Greek heritage, her faith, and more about who she is as an individual. During her year abroad, she had the opportunity to travel to more than 10 different countries, which helped her broaden her own worldview. This life changing experience caused her to pursue a degree in International Studies at Taylor University in Upland, Indiana. Katie loved her three years at Taylor University, most especially her experience serving in Residence Life both as a Resident Assistant and as an Assistant Resident Hall Director. Due to the positive, challenging, and rewarding experience serving in residence life, Katie pursued her Masters degree in Higher Education and Student Development at Taylor University and graduated May 2009. Katie served as a Resident Director of an upperclass women’s residence hall for two years at Taylor University’s Fort Wayne campus. These experiences furthered her passion for working with students. She wants to continue to disciple, challenge, and encourage them in their everyday life.

Katie comes from a close family and recently discovered the joy of being an aunt to a cute little girl, Phoebe Rae! Katie is the youngest of three kids – one brother and one sister. On top of that, she claims to have two of the best parents a girl could ask for! Katie enjoys hanging out with friends, cooking, traveling and learning about other cultures, photography, playing games (Euchre – a Midwest favorite!), watching movies, and being outside. This is Katie’s first year at Messiah College, and is thrilled to be here! Katie absolutely loves being a Residence Director, especially the privilege of working with students and helping them to reach their fullest potential. Specifically she enjoys seeing students grow and claim their Christian faith as their own and making memories in the process. She is looking forward to all of the new challenges and opportunities here, especially building relationships with the students of Naugle Hall and her fellow RDs!
