Residence Life
Stephanie Williams
Prior to joining the Messiah College community, Stephanie spent most of her life in Ohio, where she grew up in tiny village of Sugarcreek. Sugarcreek is known for being the little Switzerland of Ohio and is also in Ohio’s Amish Country. Following high school, Stephanie studied Youth Ministry at Malone College in Canton, Ohio. Stephanie loved her years (all five of them! ) at Malone College, most especially her experience there as a Resident Assistant for 2.5 years.
Before becoming a Residence Director, Stephanie served as the Youth Pastor of Salem Southeast Friends Church in Salem, Ohio for one year. Following that, she spent 4 wonderful years as a Residence Director at Ashland University in Ashland, Ohio. This experience furthered her passion for working with students. While there, she also spent three of those years serving as the peer health education advisor and one year as the advisor for the student community service group. Additionally, Stephanie attended graduate school while there. She spent one year in the Masters of Divinity program at Ashland Theological Seminary, then decided that her passion was more for learning about colleges and college students. As such, she then pursued a Masters degree in Higher Education at Geneva College in Beaver Falls, PA during her last two years as a Residence Director at Ashland University.
Stephanie comes from a close family and recently became an aunt to a darling little girl, Hannah Marie! She has two sisters and one brother…as well as two of the best parents a girl could have! Additionally, she celebrated her second year of marriage in July to her amazing husband, Lance. Lance enjoys drinking and making coffee (and other hot beverages), playing guitar, traveling, photography, graphic design, and watching movies. Stephanie enjoys hanging out with Lance, reading, drinking coffee and deep conversations, cooking (especially baking), hiking or generally doing anything in the outdoors, traveling, playing board or card games (her new favorite is Dutch Blitz), scrapbooking or anything crafty, watching movies, and hanging out with students and friends.
This is Stephanie’s first year at Messiah College, and she and Lance are very excited to be here! Stephanie absolutely loves being a Residence Director, especially the privilege of working with students. She particularly enjoys seeing students grow and become rooted in their faith and who God created them to be. She is looking forward to all of the new challenges and opportunities here, especially building relationships with the students of Bittner Hall and Mellinger Apartments
