2014 Spring Break Wilderness Trip

Going wild

Backpacking the Chattooga River Trail, SC/GA

The purpose of this trip is to provide an opportunity for participants to reconnect with the wild. We all have an inherent connection to the rest of creation that often goes unexplored for much of our lives. This weeklong backpacking excursion will focus on the transformation that can occur when spending time with the rest of creation and exploring our relationship to it.

Participants will have the chance to see and explore some of Georgia’s most beautiful backcountry, while backpacking along The Chattooga River. Stretching from the Appalachian peaks in North Carolina to the heart of Georgia, the Chattooga River is a designated wild and scenic river and considered one of the “longest and most spectacular free-flowing mountain rivers in the Southeast”.

This trip is suited to beginner backpackers, although all levels of experience are welcome and encouraged to sign up.
