S.I.C.K.

This trip, Sisters in Christ's Kingdom will be exploring intentional relationships and how to be women of God. It will be an all female, beginner hiking trip. We will discover how to encounter ourselves, others and God. We will learn a lot, and play a lot too. Join us for good discussion, great hiking, toy boat races, waterfall watching, star gazing and cooking shows.

This trip is about being women and loving it!

Live Simple to Simply Live

For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Matt 6:19-24

This trip will be hiking approximately 30 miles of the challenging and beautiful Foothills Trail in North and South Carolina. Along this trail we will encounter scenic vistas and waterfalls around Lake Jocassee.

By escaping the clutter and busyness of everyday life we will learn how to create space and make room for God. During this trip we will use the wilderness to understand the difference between needs and wants and begin to grip the concept of living simply in order to live fully. By secluding ourselves in God’s awesome wilderness, we hope to learn through personal reflection, group initiatives and games, physical challenge, debriefs, community dinners, games, devotions, and worship the importance of community with others and living simply.

Jesus Caves

This is an all male adventure that is a combination backpacking and caving Spring Break trip. This trip will take place in the North West corner of Georgia amidst some of the largest caves inthe United States. Vertical drops up to 580 feet underground. Get excited to visit at least two of these large caves! In the midst of an all male community men can expect the difficulty of challenge, fun mental and physical tasks of caving, and also encounter the social and emotional challenge of building community through relationships and sharing.

In the “Man Cave” we will discuss the “squeezes” of life through a man’s eyes: asking for help, sharing thoughts, taking time to reflect, and dealing with fears. Based on assessed needs for new experiences, bonding, and challenge, we have combined these three to intersect through caving. Through this uncommon experience, we can promote bonding in the midst of both trials and tribulation. There are miles and miles of scenic trails, and in this all male community we will have the opportunity to experience God. The trails take you up and over the beautiful ridges of Pigeon Mountain. With mildly difficult terrain, this trip is a perfect match for skill levels ranging from novice to expert. So if you have never been backpacking or caving, or have been doing them for years…Get Excited!

Live Purposefully

Climb… Act… Live… Purposefully

Get excited for a wilderness spring break trip jam packed with backpacking, rock climbing, awesome people and tons of fun! We’ll be backpacking on trails located throughout Northwest Georgia on Crockford-Pigeon

Mountain. We will be hiking to Rocktown, Georgia where we will be rock climbing. You’ll get to take in all the beautiful lakes, overlooks, waterfalls, and forests, while being able to explore Rocktown’s numerous rock formations.

You will get to dive into the full wilderness experience of hiking, carrying your own pack, cooking on stoves, tarp camping, as well as learning a new set of unique skills! The goal of our trip is to immerse our participants in a diverse and enjoyable natural environment so that we can explore and begin defining what it means to purposefully live out God’s plan for us. We will be looking at what it means to listen to God, succeed wholeheartedly, and flourish in community. You’ll receive a memorable week of adventure full of rock climbing, hiking, group initiatives, games, deep conversations, and having a blast, while immersing yourself in a purposeful community.

Why Spring Break Trips?

Adventure Programs partners with The Loft, Outdoors Club and the Adventure Education Major to offer Spring Break Wilderness Trips focused on developing godly men and women of character that are able to lead in today's world.  Participants not only grow personally and spiritually, but they also develop deep relationships with other participants during their weeklong wilderness journey.  Trips will be both fun and challenging for participants as they learn new skills and experience new things. Some of the skills participants will learn include backcountry camping, cooking, navigation, and how to live comfortably and simply in the wilderness.
