Should I open a bank account in the Grantham area?
If you wish to open a bank account in the Grantham area, there are several local banks and a credit union near the college that offer no fee bank accounts. For students working on campus direct deposit into a bank account is encouraged. There are several ATMs on campus. If you have questions concerning local banks and credit unions please feel free to contact the Business Office at (717) 691-6004. Do I have to use the college medical insurance?
All full-time students are automatically enrolled in a voluntary student health insurance plan. The plan covers sickness, accident, and major medical expenses for a 12-month period beginning August 1, 2013 and ending August 1, 2014. This 24 hour-a-day coverage includes all vacation periods. If you are covered by another medical insurance policy, you do not have to keep this coverage. If you would like to waive the student health insurance, please fill out the Voluntary Waiver of Insurance Coverage form and mail to the Business Office before September 20, 2013. If you no longer have your insurance waiver form, you may pick one up at the Business Office. Click here for more information on Messiah's Student Insurance.
What services are provided at the Engle Center for Counseling and Health Services?
The Engle Center offers medical and counseling support to Messiah College students. The center is located in the heart of campus, right behind the Jordan Science Center, and is open 8am to 5pm with additional evening hours scheduled for physician appointments. For further information see The Engle Center.
Due to the limited number of parking spaces available on campus, parking permits are issued to first year students that fit the following criteria: 21 years of age or older, live more than 250 miles from campus, have a health issue that necessitates the use of a car, are a commuter student or have a specific employment related need for a car. All students and employees of Messiah College are required to obtain a permit to park on campus. New and transfer students have until August 1st of each year to submit parking registration forms to the college. A committee reviews the parking registration forms and a decision is made to approve or deny parking privileges. An e-mail is sent to the student via their Messiah e-mail account informing them of the committee's decision Any questions may be directed to Stephen Smith (717) 691-6005, ext. 6753.

The textbook list will be posted on the Campus Store & Textbook Express channel.
When will I know my Financial Aid package?
For students planning to enroll in the fall, the Messiah College Financial Aid Office begins to create financial aid packages around March 10. If we have received the results of your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by that time, and there are no outstanding issues with your FAFSA, you will receive your final financial aid award shortly thereafter. If there are issues to be resolved with your FAFSA, we will send you a letter or email outlining those issues. Then, after you have submitted any additional documentation that is required to resolve the issue(s) and we have had time to review your FAFSA results and make any necessary corrections, we will send you a final award notice. If your FAFSA results were not received by the time we start to create financial aid packages, you will receive your award notice within a few days of the time your FAFSA results arrive. For students who continue to have outstanding issues, an estimated award letter, based only on your initial FAFSA results, will be sent toward the end of March. Contact the Financial Aid Office at firstname.lastname@example.org if we can help you with specific questions you may have regarding your package. (www.messiah.edu/offices/financial_aid)
