Messiah's campus is an active, busy place—offering students numerous opportunities to serve, have fun, and be involved. This page contains a listing of the College's more than 60 student clubs and organizations, including a brief description and a contact person you can reach for more information. You'll find that many groups on campus are ready to welcome you and to help you to explore your special interests.

Acclamation Dance Ministry
The purpose of the Acclamation Dance ministry is to promote creative expression through the art of liturgical and expressive dance, and to provide an alternative language for the worship of our Lord Jesus Christ. Acclamation plans a large dance worship service each spring and ministers in College Chapel programs.

African Student Union

This organization was established in order to emphasize the African community in Messiah: one part of Messiah's ever growing diversity. We intend for it to foster unity between fellow Africans on campus (and off campus) as well as with other students on campus. For those who hold leadership positions in the organization, it becomes a chance to fine-tune their leadership skills, as well as giving them the chance to share their visions for Africa's future.

Alliance of Confessing Theologies
ACT seeks to promote a total Christian worldview by bringing together members of various traditional faith communities- orthodox Wesleyans and Calvinists, Anglicans, Lutherans, Catholics, and Orthodox. The goal is to create a confessional, creedal, covenantal, and liturgical community where, through study, alternate chapels, and lectures students can grow in Christian intellect and character. The organization also seeks to promote reconciliation between members of varying confessional traditions and greater campus awareness of confessional, liturgical Christianity.

American Choral Directors Association
ACDA is part of a national organization which exists to foster and promote choral singing which will provide artistic and spirited experiences for the participants. ACDA is also committed to research in the field of choral music and to distributing information related to this field.

Art League
By creating and nurturing communal bonds within the Art Department, this organization supports the objectives of Messiah College while presenting art to the college in many different ways.

Asian Student Association
The Asian Christian Fellowship seeks to teach the college community, and specifically those who relate to being Asian/Asian American, the foundations of the Bible within a culturally-sensitive context.

Athletic Training Association (ATSA)
ATSA brings together the Sports Medicine Majors with the intent of furthering educational opportunities.

Chess Club

Chess helps develop the intellect by challenging the critical thinking and strategizing skills of the participants. This club has regular meetings and club sponsored tournaments.

Colleges Against Cancer

The Messiah College chapter of Colleges Against Cancer organizes and implements events such as Relay for Life, Breast Cancer Awareness month, and other events in which they partner with cancer support groups. The Messiah community unites and raises money while generating awareness about cancer to assist the American Cancer Society in taking steps to find a cure.

Earth Keepers
The Biology Club/Earthkeepers tries to educate students about Christian stewardship and help foster an appreciation for God's creation while showing students how to be responsible with God's gifts.

Eyas
Under the direction of the Alumni Office, Eyas plans and carries out activities designed to foster school and class spirit, including but not limited to, Homecoming, Senior Week, and class events. They work with the Office of Alumni Relations to strengthen ties to alumni and to foster student loyalty.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes
FCA's mission is to present the challenge and adventure of receiving Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord to athletes, coaches, and all whom they influence. They meet weekly for worship, fellowship, and a brief message about integrating Christian faith as an athlete.

Flying Club
The Flying Club provides education and real life experience into the world of flight through participating in the Mid-Atlantic Soaring Association and visiting local airports and museums.

French Club
This organization helps support diversified learning and understanding of other cultures. It also promotes the use of another language, specifically French.

German Club
Through the activities of our organization, we strive to promote the development of campus diversity through improved intercultural understanding. In providing a venue for dialogue between cultures in a bilingual setting, we hope to further intellectual growth of students and foster community through exploring the richness of German culture in fellowship with each other.

Grace College Fellowship
This fellowship meets weekly for a time of Bible study and promoting intelligent discussion regarding pracitcal matters of the Christian faith, with the goal of personal growth and edification.

History Club
The History Club helps students gain a better understanding and appreciation for the study of history outside of the classroom.

Human Rights Awareness Coalition

Human Rights Awareness challenges students to understand complicated issues happening throughout the world in light of their Christian faith. HRA serves as a medium through which college-wide programming of world events can be placed such as Invisible Children and World AIDS Day.

I'm Worth Waiting For
I’m Worth Waiting For works with the Capital Area Pregnancy Center to promote an abstinence education program focusing upon the 100% effectiveness of abstaining from intercourse until marriage and the purification via God’s grace. Volunteers are trained to present fun and informative skits, initiate activities, and lead discussion in area schools and youth groups.

ISA/MuKappa (International Student Association/Missionary Kids)
ISA/MuKappa aids international students and missionary kids in making cultural adjustments, and provides an on-going network of encouragement, fellowship, and understanding among its members. ISA/MuKappa also works at bring world awareness to the college community and to the community outside of Messiah College.

Investment Club
The Investment club provides its members with the necessary tools to make informed investment choices. In the process, the members learn how to become good stewards of financial resources that are entrusted to them. In addition, the members learn to distinguish firms that are socially responsible from firms that are not.

Kouenkai
The purpose of Kouenkai is to create a dialogue with the Japanese culture through helping students to appreciate Japanese Animation. The organization meets weekly and participates in anime screenings and art sharing.

La Aliansa Latina
LAL explores the richness of Latino culture, offers a community for Hispanics/Latinos and those interested in Latino culture, serves the Latin community, and furthers interest in Latino culture through education, language, dance, service, and the Christian faith.

Line Dancing Club
The Line Dancing Club helps students meet and become friends while learning a new, exciting activity.

Martial Arts Club
The Martial Arts Club promotes community, service, and self-confidence while exercising and learning a dying art.

Math Problem-Solving Group
The Math Problem-Solving Group meets weekly to solve and discuss math problems. They participate in national contests, study math-related books, and conduct alternate chapels concerning math and ministry.

MC Council on Family Relations
The National Council on Family Relations (NCFR) provides a forum for family researchers, educators and practitioner to share in the development and dissemination of knowledge about families and family relationships, establishes professional standards and works to promote family well-being. As an affiliate of NCFR, the Messiah College Council on Family Relations (MCCFR) strives to provide opportunities for family-oriented educational, social, and service-based activities. By joining together with the common purpose of preparing ourselves to better serve families, MCCFR will foster a sense of identity and enhance professional development among students and faculty interested in family-related issues.

MC Democrats
The Messiah College Democrats are dedicated to showing another side of politics that is not well represented while providing leadership opportunities for all students.

MC Republicans
Dedicated to increasing political awareness on campus and in the surrounding community, the MC Republicans are committed to furthering the conservative ideals of the United States Republican Party.

Medical Awareness Society
The Medical Awareness Society provides speakers, programs and events on medical topics and helps students to prepare for their medical school tests.

Men's Club Ice Hockey

Messiah's Club Ice Hockey team works together and helps build community among one another. It's a great form of fellowship and fun!

Men's Club Soccer
This program builds a faith centered community by facilitating teamwork and relationships between teammates that are based on Christian values. Being a part of this team encourages students to become servants and leaders. Having the opportunity to play other colleges allows this team to be reconcilers in the world by modeling Christian character.

Men's Club Volleyball
This club is committed to educating and equipping its members toward physical wellness and toward maturity of character and faith by the way they practice, compete, and represent Messiah College.

Messiah College Bass Team
The members of the Bass Team at Messiah College practice and develop their skills of fishing while enjoying each other's fellowship. They strive to be stewards of the land God has given us by cleaning up local boat launches and serving the Pennsylvania Fish and Game Association.

Messiah College Education Association (MCEA)
The purpose of MCEA is to provide opportunities for education majors to collaborate and grow in professional knowledge.

Multicultural Council
This council provides a place where student body representatives from the Multicultural Organizations gather and talk about issues related to culture and ethnicity while promoting cultural awareness on campus.

Music Educators National Conference
The MENC chapter at Messiah seeks to provide opportunities for Music Education students to explore and prepare for their field above and beyond their classes.

Newman Club
The Newman Club is a group of Roman Catholic students, faculty, staff, and administrators, who meet regularly to encourage spiritual growth, open conversation about the Catholic faith, and serve the local community.

Nurses Christian Fellowship (NCF)
The Messiah College Nurses Christian Fellowship is part of a national organization. NCF seeks to deepen and strengthen the spiritual life of members by the study of the Bible, prayer, and Christian fellowship.

Nurses Student Association
This association of nurses primarily focuses on promoting professional interest in the field of nursing as well as assisting in the development of the whole person in relation to this field.

Outdoors Club
The Outdoors Club is quite active as they seek a closer relationship with God by appreciating his creation and by striving to develop proficiency in outdoor recreational skills. Outdoors Club activities include rock climbing, mountain biking, caving, backpacking, canoeing, snowboarding and skiing, hiking, etc.

Outreach Teams
Thus, Outreach Teams follows the call of our faith to follow Christ and treat each person that we come across as a neighbor, as a friend, and as a brother or sister in creation. Through the investment of time, Outreach Teams facilitates the formation of relationships that we might experience life together and become all that God intends us to be.

Peace Fellowship

A club focused on seeking peace and justice by raising awareness and taking action. They seek to educate club members and the community about the historical and current events that cause turmoil and injustice in the world. The Peace Fellowship desires to encourage peacemaking and reconciliation as well as political action.

Phi Alpha National Honor Society, Lambda Psi Chapter
This Social Work National Honor Society recognizes and promotes scholastic achievement in an undergraduate social work program that is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. It encourages objectivity and awareness of current developments and practices in the various field of social work and stimulates interest in preparing for a career in social work.

Philosophy Club
Philosophy club offers students the opportunity to participate in interdisciplinary discourse - relating the subject of philosophy to other topics such as faith, theology, psychology, and popular culture. It supports Messiah's objective to promote tolerance and free-thinking.

Powerhouse Band
This team is dedicated to worshipping God, specifically through weekly services on Thursday nights. Additionally, the team offers musical and spiritual leadership growth through activities both inside and outside the college.

Psychology Club
The Psychology Club is dedicated to enhancing the intellectual, spiritual, and community development of its members. In addition, the club is dedicated to serving the students and faculty of Messiah College along with neighboring communities.

Seek His Face Ministries
Seek His Face is an active ministry that focuses on teaching and preaching the word of God while reaching out, loving people, and changing lives.

Sigma Zeta (National Math and Science Honors Society)
Sigma Zeta hopes to further the glory of God through the pursuit of scientific excellence. Sigma Zeta, or the Beta Lambda chapter, is part of a national science and mathematics honor society. An overall GPA of 2.75 and a 3.0 within the science or mathematics field are both required to apply for membership. In addition, the applicant must have completed 25 credits of course work.

Ski and Ride Club
The Ski and Ride Club encourages life-long learning and physical activity by offering opportunities for discount tickets to Ski Roundtop as well as trips to Vermont and Scranton, PA.

Social Work Club
The Social Work Club works together with the Messiah College community and greater communities of Harrisburg and Philadelphia in order to preserve human rights and strengthen the voices of those not heard.

Society of Women Engineers (SWE)
The purpose of SWE is to serve God through community fellowship and the expansion of engineering services.

Student Nutrition Awareness Coalition (SNAC)
SNAC aims to increase nutritional awareness through sponsoring educational experiences and activities for the student body, career opportunities for dietetics majors and volunteer outreach projects to the local community.

Student Activities Board (SAB)
SAB plans several events weekly with the goal of promoting exciting activities for students to become involved in, while at the same time fostering a sense of community through social events. Dances, a movie series, concerts and coffeehouses are only some of the many events that SAB plans yearly.

Student Government Association (SGA)
SGA is the student government of Messiah College.

Students In Free Enterprise (SIFE)
SIFE offers Messiah students the opportunity to develop leadership, teamwork and communication skills through learning, practice and teaching the principles of free enterprise in a number of countries, thereby improving the standard of living for others in the process.

Swing Club
Do you love to swing dance or do you want to learn? If so, then this club is for you. Swing Club offers swing dancing instructions as well as sponsor swing dances.

The Clarion (Yearbook)
Regarded as one of the finest college yearbooks in the U.S., the Clarion has a large student staff that utilizes the latest computer technology to publish their artistic interpretation of the year's events. Comprised of unique photography and text as well as eye catching layouts, the yearbook is given to all students at the annual Opportunities Fair as part of their student activity fee.

The Swinging Bridge (Student Newspaper)
The official student newspaper of Messiah College, the Swinging Bridge is published weekly. The goal of the paper is to build community through communication. All aspects of the paper are student written and run. Sections have included News, Opinions, Magazine, and Sports.

Theology Club
The Theology Club engages in discussion of theological issues and their implications, which fits with Messiah's mission of growing spiritually and wrestling with the deep questions of life.

Ultimate Frisbee Organization (UFO)
The Ultimate Frisbee Organization gives students a fun and unique way to meet others and gain valuable exercise while offering a chance to play in a non-competitive environment. Also, the interscholastic branch of the club would give students the opportunity to play at a competitive level.

Whites Confronting Racism
The mission of this group is to provide resources and an engaging environment for whites to explore themselves, assess their identities and understand their backgrounds. They seek to uncover their own internalized racism and examine the ways they benefit and participate in systemic racism and white privilege, which re-creating an honest and positive identity.

Women's Club Soccer
Messiah Women's Club Soccer program is a team of women who facilitate teamwork and relationships between teammates, and they are encouraged to become servants and leaders on the field and off the field. World Christian Fellowship
WCF promotes an attitude of awareness and action for the world-wide fellowship of believers. They foster thinking about diversity and the need to be intentional about our faith and apply it to our lives and communities. They encourage and help students become aware of the service and mission opportunities available to them. WCF strives to support the vision of the college to follow the teaching of Jesus and become salt and light in the earth.

WVMM (Messiah College Radio Station- 90.7 FM)
WVMM or the "V" is the college radio station which is run and operated by students. The General Manager of the station coordinates schedules for DJ's. The "V" announces sporting events and helps other student groups and organizations conduct promotional activities.
