Theological College of Zimbabwe (TCZ)
by Joy Curtis
TCZ is an interdenominational theological college in Zimbabwe, committed to the
development of Christian leaders in both the church and the field. Established in May of
1979 by the African Evangelical Fellowship, it was eventually given autonomy in November
of 1997 to strengthen the support base for the school and widen its effectiveness. In June
2002, TCZ moved from its original seat in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe to its new campus on Gwanda
Road, about 5 Km from downtown. This seven acre plot provides for additional growth in the
college and is strategically located across from the National University of Science and
Technology (NUST).
The College operates under the essential values of godliness, servant leadership, academic
excellence, evangelical truths, promoting diversity, and excellence in ministry in both
the church and society. TCZ is a part of a number of academic organizations. This includes
the Association of Colleges for Theological Education in Zimbabwe (ACTEZ). The college
puts a heavy emphasis on a strong core education as well developed ministry and theology
courses. The aim is to equip students to handle scripture with accuracy and intellectual
integrity.
