Kayaking/Canoeing Information
Pennsylvania contains many small
rivers and streams throughout the state which we take advantage of.
Trips range from beginner flat-water trips to Class III whitewater
kayaking and rafting trips. Safety equipment and training are always
provided, and required.

comparatively inexpensive.

Destinations
Yellow Breeches
Yellow Breeches is a Class I - II creek. You can see part of it which
runs through campus near the athletic fields. It's a great river for
beginners, because most of it is flat water. For your information, there
is the possibility of putting-in at the covered bridge, and following
the Breeches for about 3 miles, where it will eventually wind back onto
campus where you can take-out down in the "Pit" or "D-Lot" parking area.
The Yellow Breeches flows 20 miles downstream, where it flows into the
Susquehanna River near Harrisburg.
Dauphin Narrows
This is part of the Susquehanna River. It is a very wide river with a
strong current. It has some nice standing waves. Most of it is Class I
or II.
Codorus Creek
A fun whitewater river that offers Class III rapids, with occasional
Class IV. Experts are advised only to run this river with the correct
equipment, training, and leaders.
Muddy River
Similar to the Codorus Creek. A fun whitewater river that offers Class
III rapids, with occasional Class IV. Experts are advised only to run
this river with the correct equipment, training, and leaders. And it's
not as dirty as it sounds. :)
